Everton ahead in the race for Manchester United midfielder
With less than a couple of days to go in the Winter Transfer window, the Premier League clubs are making all their last-ditch efforts to secure their transfer subjects. Reports suggest that Everton are in advanced talks for a loan transfer of Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek. The deal includes the full payment of Netherland international’s wages by the Toffees, who will not have an option to make his move permanent.
Everton have had a very poor run of form lately with four losses out of their last five premier league games leading to the sacking of manager Rafa Benitez. As per recent reports, ex-Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is the favourite to take up the position in the Merseyside club. Pundits suggested that Lampard will have a very challenging job ahead with the lack of signings in Everton, now this signing should certainly help Frank Lampard and Everton for the rest of the season.

Lack of game time in Manchester United
Donny van de Beek had signed for Manchester United from Ajax, a £39m move in the summer of 2020. But the player has failed to secure his position in the playing XI and has had to spend most of his time with the substitutes. He has just two goals and two assists to his name in 50 United appearances. The lack of game time led to the dutch player opting for a move to Goodison Park.
Van de Beek was amongst those leading Ajax’s exciting young team under Erik ten Hag during their incredible run to the Champions League semi-finals in 2019, scoring six goals in the competition and 28 more in over 100 appearances.
With three-and-a-half years to run on his contract at Old Trafford, Van de Beek’s future will likely be re-assessed after the season ends, when Manchester United will have a new manager in place.
