“Every decision was taken”- Antonio Conte believes the Player welfare and fixture list congestion meeting with the PL was a waste of time
The managers of the English football clubs have not been happy with the Premier League’s decision to not take any steps to postpone or change the congested schedule of the Premier League in December.
Before the meeting took place on Thursday between all the managers and the Premier League board many managers spoke up on this matter which includes the likes of Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola. It’s as said by them looks to be one of the most dangerous weeks for the players as they might end up suffering some serious injuries due to lack of time for rest and recovery.
Antonio Conte does not seem to be happy with the ignorant attitude of the Premier League board
Antonio Conte, the current head coach of Tottenham Hotspur does not look too satisfied with the attitude and decision given by the Premier League board. He said, “I think that everything was decided. And I think yesterday was a wall, and for this reason also I don’t want to go into the discussion.”
“It is not easy for us, it is not easy for all the teams to play after only one day, it’s not simple. You have to manage the situation very well because of the risk of losing players to injuries.”
“We have to pay great attention, especially my team. Don’t forget we had half our squad (out) with Covid… When you get Covid, then you have to live with this situation for two to three weeks after you are finished with Covid.”
Antonio Conte’s side has been missing some players due to Covid and the Italian manager has reported that most of his players are back in training although the disease seems to have taken its toll on the players.
Tottenham boss looks to be very unhappy as his squad is not completely fit and within 48 hours Tottenham will be playing two league matches Crystal Palace and Southampton, raising chances for injuries that the team cannot afford at this stage league contention.
