FC Barcelona to put sanctions on Dembele? French forward might be in trouble

Ousmane Dembele has had a bitter time lately at Barcelona and might face sanctions from the Catalan Club FC Barcelona for his recent actions in the club. Reports suggest that the Barcelona forward was absent this morning at the Ciutat Esportiva, citing stomach problems.

FC Barcelona, however, refused to believe what Dembele said and have reportedly informed the player that he would be sanctioned. Although there is yet to be an official confirmation of the report from the club, it is assumed that the French player is in for some hard times in the last few months of his contract.

Ousmane Dembele‘s contract runs out in the summer this year and FC Barcelona wants to extend his contract. However, the contract negotiations have not gone to plan for FC Barcelona as they failed to reach terms with the French superstar.

FC Barcelona issues ultimatum to Dembele

The Catalan side has issued an ultimatum to Ousmane Dembele to find a new club before the end of the January transfer window. Reports suggest that several clubs have shown interest, including Manchester United and Chelsea.

Blaugrana boss Xavi Hernandez has said that he feels cheated by the Frenchman and the player was handed a final warning by the coach on Wednesday in what appeared to be a transfer ultimatum.

Dembele was subsequently excluded from the Barca matchday squad that lost to Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey Round of 16 game on Thursday night with his future apparently short.

The boss told reporters: “Dembele is important but it is a club decision and we all agree on it – I don’t think his absence has impacted the team.”
