‘They don’t play as a team,’ former French international claims PSG will not win the Champions League this season

Paris Saint Germain played out a disappointing 2-2 against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League last night, and former French football Frank Leboeuf slammed the French giants for their poor display. Paris had a shocking start to the game going down 1-0 and gave away a penalty which was eventually missed by Leipzig.

They could have conceded 3 or 4 goals in the first half, if not for the poor finishing from the opposition strikers. However, they made a comeback into the game courtesy of Georginio Wijnaldum’s twin strikes in the first half but it wasn’t enough for a victory as Leipzig scored late on from a penalty.

PSG are currently second in Group A behind Manchester City and have had a string of disappointing results

The performance did not please PSG fans, and former French footballer, Frank Leboeuf opined that they would not win the UEFA Champions League despite having the best of squads. With Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Di Maria and Lionel Messi in attack,e everyone expected them to take football by storm but that has not been the case sp far, and they have greatly underwhelmed with their performances as a unit.

“It’s everything but a surprise for me to see PSG struggling like they struggled today, they struggled a fortnight ago against Leipzig because they don’t play as a team,” Leboeuf told ESPNFC.

“They have talents, they can create something crazy like after 3-0 after 10-15 minutes by they were 1-1 because of fantastic actions from Neymar, Mbappe and they Wijnaldum who scored, but at the end of the day it’s not enough to win the Champions League.”
