“He wants trophies on his CV”- Paul Robinson on Tottenham striker’s aspirations to leave the club

Former Liverpool goalkeeper thinks that the Tottenham striker Harry Kane will not have changed his desire to leave the club as he wanted to last season.

Paul Robinson, during a conversation with Sky Sports, said, “There is an opportunity to play in Champions League for him and to compete, whether it is Manchester United or Manchester City or whether it might be in Europe somewhere, for him to go and win trophies.

“I don’t think that Harry Kane’s mindset has changed from what it was in summer. He stayed at Spurs because City did not come up with the transfer fee, the transfer for whatever reason didn’t happen.

Antonio Conte has come in. He has given Spurs fans hope, given Harry Kane a little bit of hope that things may change and that Spurs might may compete for trophies.

But, actually, his mindset from last year won’t have changed. He is ambitious. He wants to achieve things and come the end of his career, he wants trophies on his CV. So, that conversation will be revisited again this summer, I have no doubt”

Tottenham, following the calamitous defeat to Middlesbrough that led to Antonio Conte‘s team getting dumped out of the FA Cup, extended the club’s trophy-less run to 14 seasons. The North London club is currently seventh in the Premier League table, are still fighting for a place in the top 4. They have 42 points as of now with two games in hand that includes matches against Everton and Manchester United. Tottenham will have to come out of these matches with positive scores, otherwise, their dream of top 4 will surely see the end.

United amongst the most likely destination for Tottenham superstar

According to German publication BILD (h/t The Sun), Manchester United are in the top position to get the signature of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane ahead of the summer transfer window. He would certainly be a great addition to the squad and could even be a necessity depending on the situation at the end of the season.

Manchester City were the favourites initially to sign the English international, however, the Cityzens have declared that Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is their priority target for the upcoming transfer window. That points towards them finally putting an end to their pursuit of Kane, giving the advantage to Manchester United in the process.
