“He’s our player”- Thomas Tuchel offers cryptic update on Romelu Lukaku’s return after a 2-2 stalemate against Liverpool

The match between Chelsea and Liverpool turned out to be an exciting contest as both the teams were on each other’s neck throughout the game ending the match in a 2-2 draw.

Thomas Tuchel’s side recently underwent a controversial stage after the Belgian forward interview with Sky Sports Italia and said, “I’m not happy with the situation, this is normal, but I am a worker and I must not give up.”

The German manager and the Chelsea board were not happy with the situation and Lukaku was expectedly dropped out of the squad against their vital clash against Liverpool.

In the post-match interview when Thomas Tuchel was asked about the situation of Romelu Lukaku he said, “He’s our player. There is always a way back but we will clear this in Cobham behind closed doors and once we have made a decision, club coach and once Romelu knows then you will maybe know also.”

Romelu Lukaku is tied up to the club until 2026 but if things go south his tenure with Chelsea might end much before than expected. The Belgian has not yet apologized to the club and has shown his intention to play for Inter if given an opportunity in the future.

Thomas Tuchel will reportedly have a meeting with the Belgian forward about his interview with Sky Sports Italia and looks forward to finding a solution as the club has no intention to send the player away in the January Transfer Window.
