Indian women footballers display immense sportsmanship after 6-1 defeat against might Brazil
India suffered a 6-1 defeat against Brazil in the opening match of the four-nation women’s football international tournament. Manisha Kalyan scored a wonder goal in the 8th minute of the match to score the only goal for the Blues in a match of such a huge magnitude. However, the Seleccaos made a powerful statement in the second half of the match to win it by the thumping margin.
Despite the disappointing result, the women in Blue eventually won hearts with a terrific gesture at the end of the match. As is customary these days, the whole team posed for a picture after the match. And to everyone’s surprise, it was not only the Indian women footballers who had taken their positions for the snap but they were also joined by Brazilian football’s legend Formiga, for whom it would be the final match in an international jersey.

She made her debut at the get of 17 and has played for over 26 years, which included seven Olympics and World Cup appearances. The midfielder finished her career with 205 matches, and the Indian women team did not miss the golden chance to take a photo with one of the legends of the game.
The Indian team then also called on the entire Brazilian contingent to be included in their team photo, an act which won hearts of the entire footballing world.

India will play their next match against Chile in the 29th of November for the second match of this tournament.
