Jose Mourinho wants Alexandre Lacazette at AS Roma

The transfer season has entered a very exciting stage as it is witnessing a round of intriguing and surprising bids. One of the transfer moves that could materialize in the future is that of Arsenal FC striker Alexandre Lacazette. The 30-year-old is linked with a move to the Italian outfit with Jose Mourinho eager to add the Frenchman in the dugout. Although the former Lyon FC player has a year left in his contract Lacazette didn’t produce the performances he was expected to.

One of the reasons for his mediocre performances at the club was because he was constantly employed in different positions. It would be interesting to see how the striker manages to adapt to the playing conditions in Serie A. AS Roma owners were in talks to buy Granit Xhaka but the midfielder is about to extend his contract with the gunners till 2024.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has also expressed his interest in striker Tammy Abraham whose estimated bid could be around 40 million pounds as per reports. The north London club has made some new additions recently in their set up and Arteta’s decisions have been at the forefront in those additions.

Meanwhile, AS Roma has also turned its attention on Paris St Germain striker Mauro Icardi who as per reports wants to make a return to Serie A. Lacazette needs to be utilized well if the club manages to make this bid successful. So how would the Frenchman’s presence benefit AS Roma if the striker signs the deal with the club?

How would Lacazette’s presence add more penetration at the front?

The Frenchman hasn’t been in the best of forms but his ability to penetrate the opposition’s defence with his pace and powerful runs is unmatchable on his day. Lacazette is equally vigorous with his offensive as well as defensive play and is known for his pressing game at the wings as well as at the centre. The 30-year-old can throttle the opposition with his combative counterattacks.

Lacazette can provide assurance with his quick thinking while building link-ups with the midfield. Lacazette netted 13 goals in 31 games last season with 2 assists to his name but this doesn’t highlight his goal-scoring prowess for which he is known. Hopefully, at AS Roma, he would shine brightly if utilized well if the deal is successful. Lacazette’s inclusion would surely add the bite and with Edin Dzeko making a move to Inter Milan Lacazette could be the focal point in the forward line alongside Pedro Rodriguez.

Lacazette collusion with midfielders Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Lorenzo Pellegrini would be crucial. This could be an important signing keeping the club’s future prospects in mind as the club higher-ups, as well as Mourinho, would be hoping to pull out this deal at the earliest.
