“Liverpool are still in the race”-Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes it is 2 horse Premier League race

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher

Liverpool are now just 1 point below Manchester City in the Premier League and the title race is back on. The Reds beat Arsenal 2-0 yesterday (17th March) in a thrilling encounter at the emirates Stadium in a must win game. Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino scored for Jurgen Klopp’s men as they cruised through with a convincing victory.
Liverpool are now just within a point of Manchester City. The Reds still have to play City and that will be the biggest game of the season as it will decide who will win the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp’s men have now won 9 consecutive games and have cut the deficit to just a single point after Manchester City dropped points earlier this month.
Both Manchester City and Liverpool fans will be eagerly waiting for their team’s clash at the Etihad Stadium just after the international break. But it is clearly visible that the momentum is with the Reds and they will be the favourites to win the tie.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher shares his thoughts about the Premier League title race:

Jamie Carragher has stated that he feels Liverpool are back in the title race after a 2-0 win against Arsenal and will have the momentum to win the game against Manchester City later this month. Carragher believes Manchester City have dropped a lot of points and will not be able to handle Liverpool’s front 3.
Jamie Carragher said,” It is 50-50, if you like, because of the situation with the game being at the Etihad Stadium. But this is the first time I have ever thought Liverpool would win the title and I have always said Manchester City before a ball was kicked.”
The Reds legend continued,” That Chelsea game that was 2-2 and Liverpool were 11 points behind; to be fair, Graeme Souness was in the studio saying Liverpool were still in the race and I thought it was well gone and it was Manchester City’s to lose.”
Carragher continued,” Manchester City are not in bad form, losing lots of games and dropping lots of points. But because these teams are so good now, just drawing a game, it feels like a defeat now. It does feel like that with both of the teams.”
“I just feel that for Liverpool, the signing of Luiz Diaz, not just as an individual but what it has done to their options. What they brought off the bench is much better than the year they won the Champions League, the year they won the Premier League,” said Jamie Carragher.
The 44 year old lastly said,” Now if someone is having a poor game, you know someone is going to come on and improve Liverpool from the bench. That is a massive difference that this team has never had.”
