Manchester City will become an even more terrifying outfit if Erling Haaland is signed in the summer. The Borussia Dortmund star has been heavily linked with a transfer and new reports claim a deal is already done to bring the striker to the Premier League.

Erling Haaland has a £63million release clause in his Dortmund contract, while the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, is also set to earn a substantial payment. Those fees, plus a signing-on bonus, are likely to take the total outlay towards £100m.

The financials are said to be affordable for City, who have made the Norway striker their number one transfer priority.

Manchester City had Harry Kane in their targets last season and it was assumed that the club will try and secure that deal next summer. However, the new reports suggest that the Norwegian has replaced the English striker in Pep Guardiola’s priority list.

Erling Haaland has been a top commodity in the transfer market for a long time and top clubs all across are getting ready to spend fortunes to sign the Norwegian superstar. Spanish giants FC Barcelona is keen to win the race for the 21-year old forward that has lit up the Bundesliga and Champions League over the past two seasons.

Reports in later part of February suggested that FC Barcelona is working on a plan to raise €100 million (£83m/$113m) to fund the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland in the summer.

However, according to a report by Marca in February, Real Madrid are trying to secure a deal with Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe as soon as possible given the vast amount of interest in their services.

That includes the £63million transfer fee – thought to be a release clause that kicks in this summer at Dortmund – alongside the player’s wages and the commission that would be demanded by Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola.

With all the offers from top clubs all over Europe, it should be interesting to find out who manages to secure the Norwegian’s signature in the summer.
