Raphael Varane moved to Manchester United from Real Madrid last summer after spending 10 years at the Los Blancos. The French defender won numerous titles during his time in Madrid and played with a number of great players.

Varane won the UEFA Champions League 4 times during his time there and was one of the key players for Real Madrid for almost a decade. The 28 year old formed a great partnership with Sergio Ramos at the heart of the defence and the French international is now considered as one of the best defenders in the world.

Raphael Varane has played in 3 different leagues in his career. The 28 year old started his career at RC Lens in France before earning a big move to Real Madrid. After spending 10 years at the historic club, the France international decided to join Manchester United last summer as it was boyhood club.

The 28 year old has made just 16 appearances for the Red Devils since his arrival. However, in just short a time, Varane has already decided which is the best league in the world according to him and how he is coping with life in England.

Raphael Varane was asked about life in the Premier League as a player after earning a move to Manchester United from Real Madrid last summer. Despite playing only half a season in England, the France international was certain with his answer and was adamant that Premier League outranks the La Liga.

Varane said,” The intensity is very different. The pace of the game is a really high level. It is a great experience. I like the atmosphere around the stadiums. I like the mentality. It is very intense but always in good spirit and always very positive. This experience for me is great.”

The 28 year old also pointed out that the depth in quality in Premier League clubs is greater than what it is in the La Liga in Spain and also greater than what it is in Ligue 1 in France.

He added,” Yeah, the game are very difficult. You cannot be relaxed, you can be winning a game and you know if you have 10 minutes to play, anything van happen. I think it is the best league in the world and the intensity is absolutely amazing. Every team has players with top quality.”

Varane also said,” Tactically, it is a very high level and there are a lot of players and coaches from everywhere. So it is a mix about different cultures and different styles of players and of mentality. I think that is why the league is top because it is the best from everywhere, you know.”
