‘More Like a Winger’: Robert Lewandowski Feels Kylian Mbappe Isn’t a Striker as Compared to Benzema and Halaand

Robert Lewandowski in his recent interview revealed that he does not think Kylian Mbappe is a striker but more like a winger.

In a conversation with Téléfoot interviewer Frédéric Calenge, Robert Lewandowski said, “I’m not sure if Mbappé is a typical number 9. He’s more like a winger.”

The Bayern striker was also asked to choose among the three players- Benzema, Haaland or Mbappé to which he replied that all three players are different in their own ways, with Benzema being the most technical among the three.

“Benzema, Haaland or Mbappé? I can’t choose. I prefer all of them together. But they’re different types of players. Haaland is the fastest but Benzema is the most technical”

Talking about rumours surrounding his potential move to PSG in the summer, he said, “I’m still under contract at FC Bayern until 2023. I’m not thinking about that yet.”

Robert Lewandowski on his second place finish in the Ballon d’Or

Robert Lewandowski was what many thought to have snubbed from the Ballon d’Or award after he finished second to the Argentine forward and seven-times Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi.

When asked about his thoughts on the matter, Robert said that he is proud to be compared to Lionel Messi and that it highlights how great of a season he has had.

He said, “To be compared to Lionel Messi shows that I had a great season. If you finish second to Messi, you can also see yourself as a winner.”

Talking about his footballing career ahead, Robert Lewandowski said that he plans to continue playing for the next five years at least.

Robert Lewandowski: “I want to play for many more years, at least five years! If I start to decline in 2 years, I may think about retirement but not yet.”
