Emiliano Martinez for Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup

Argentina faced France in the FIFA World Cup 2022 final at Lusail Stadium on Sunday, December 18. The South American nation won 4-2 on penalties, all credit to Emiliano Martinez’s epics in the match against French heroes.

Martinez was essential in Argentina’s route to the final. However, he had stored his finest quality for the big game. Even though both teams’ goalkeepers, Emiliano Martinez and Hugo Lloris, had also been outstanding, Martinez took home the golden glove.

Martinez had earlier proven unmovable in Argentina’s quarterfinal penalty shootout clinch over the Netherlands, blocking Virgil van Djik and Steven Berghuis from the place. Martinez, who plays for Aston Villa, made seven outings for Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and recorded three shutouts.
