2022 FIFA World Cup Croatia v Canada: Preview, Team News, Possible Line Ups, and Prediction
Croatia v Canada
On Monday afternoon, Croatia will play a determined Canadian team in their second World Cup group match. The runners-up of Zlatko Dalic’s competition began their quest to surpass themselves on Wednesday morning with a controlled 0-0 draw against Morocco.
Later that evening, Canada launched a full-scale attack on Belgium with no hesitation. The 2018 bronze medalists were outshot 22 to 9, but John Herdman’s team was left to regret Alphonso Davies’ missed penalty in the first half as they suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 loss.
2022 FIFA World Cup Croatia v Canada: Team News
Nikola Vlasic was lost for Dalic versus Morocco due to a calf issue. But after recuperating from a quadriceps injury that had delayed his preparation for the competition, Marko Livaja, a fellow forward, entered the game in the second half. Nikola has been in good form for his club side, and the manager would be banking on his fitness before the game.
Before Canada lined up against Belgium, questions lingered around Davies, Stephen Eustaquio, and goalkeeper Milan Borjan. To start against the Red Devils, all three overcome different injuries; they may likely keep those positions this weekend. Alphonso Davies hopes to silence the critics after his missed penalty against the Belgians.
