Jurgen Klopp has lauded “Liverpool legend” Divock Origi as he confirmed the striker’s departure this summer and reflected on an “outstanding” player and person. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised Divorck Origi as the striker prepares to leave the club at the end of the current campaign.

The Belgian forward is in the final few months of his contract at Anfield with AC Milan closing in on a free transfer this summer.

While he has been constantly down the pecking order during his time in the red half of Merseyside, Origi has developed a reputation for grabbing important goals off the bench.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s final home game of the season, Klopp has confirmed that there will be a send-off for Origi on Sunday.

“Yes, I expect Divock to get a special reception, farewell. He is and will be, for me, forever a Liverpool legend. One of the most important players I ever had, that sounds completely strange with the number of games he had but it was, and is, a pure joy to work together with him,” Klopp said.

“It’s not over yet just because it’s the last Premier League game, but, yes, he deserves all the good thoughts we can generate for his future. Wherever he will go he will be successful, 100 percent. An outstanding player, an outstanding boy,” he added.

Liverpool Striker Divock Origi agrees on personal terms with AC Milan ahead Of free transfer this summer

The Athletic are reporting that Liverpool FC striker Divock Origi has agreed on personal terms with AC Milan ahead of a summer move on a free transfer. Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Origi knows his next destination is Milan and will undergo his medical tests and sign his contract after the Champions League final at the end of the month.

Origi has scored 41 goals and provided 18 assists for Liverpool in 175 appearances where he has one the Champions League, the Premier League, the Club World Cup, and the FA Cup amongst others.
