2022 has been a challenging year for Shakira. She experienced a tumultuous split that included being betrayed by Gerard Piqué,. The pop star faced accusations of tax evasion in Spain and had to devote her attention to her two children, Sasha and Milan. Her father had two delicate medical procedures.
“2022 was a year that I will hardly be able to forget, since I faced so many challenges, as well as [had] real friends”, she said in an interview with the website Despierta America. She relied on her music and her fans’ constant affection to try to take things more lightly. The Colombian stated that the music was good company, but her fans were even more so.
She thanked everyone for listening to her and allowing her to express herself. She concluded by saying her hope that in 2023 she can continue to correspond to all the support and affection that her fans give her and bring them more new songs.
“The music was good company, but you [the fans] even more. I want to thank everyone for listening to me and allowing me to express myself. That in 2023 I can continue to correspond to all the support and affection that you give me, and bring you more new songs and much more,” Shakira said.
Breaking up with Gerard Pique is one of the most difficult phrases for Shakira to utter, as they had been together for 11 years. The couple, who have two sons together, had been in a relationship since 2011, when Pique first became a part of Shakira’s life.
Gerard Pique and Shakira have officially decided to put their Barcelona residence up for sale following their split

The news of the separation of Shakira and Gerard Piqué, the parents of two children, has been the talk of the town. They have decided to put their Barcelona home on the market. Initially, it was thought that the former Spanish player would move into the house after the singer relocated to Miami. Instead, they have chosen to sever all ties, including their Esplugues de Llobregat residence.
Laura Fa and Lorena Vazquez, known as the ‘MamarazzisMamarazzi’smmunicated that Milan and Sasha’s guardians have agreed with a real estate firm to list the house. The agreement specifies that the property should only be seen by those genuinely able to make the purchase instead of just any interested person.
Gerard Pique and Shakira paid for creating a minimalistic abode in Esplugues de Llobregat in 2012. The house – an estimated million dollars – has a special significance to the duo and their romance. It stands five stories tall.
