PSG player Achraf Hakimi charged by French prosecutors after r*pe allegations
The 24-year-old woman has claimed Hakimi has raped her in his apartment on their first meeting
A source close to the investigation has confirmed that French prosecutors have opened a preliminary investigation into the alleged rape by Paris Saint-Germain right-back, Achraf Hakimi. A 24-year-old woman accused the Moroccan of raping her at his home on last week.
She testified at the Nogent-sur-Marne police station, however, she did not file any charges. He has denied the allegations. The public prosecutor’s office handling the case declined to comment but confirmed an investigation had begun. However, they complained that “information already made public’ in the media ‘jeopardized the necessary investigations to find out the truth.”
The news comes at a time when Hakimi is injured and away from the pitch. He is married to Hiba Abouk and has two sons. His companion and their children had gone to the United Arab Emirates for the weekend.
PSG released a statement saying, “The club supports the player, who has firmly denied the accusations and trusts the justice system. Paris St. Germain is an institution that promotes respect on and off the pitch.” Hakimi’s lawyer, Fanny Colin, told Le Parisien in a statement that the player did not do anything wrong, saying, “The accusations are false. He is calm and is at the disposal of justice.”
