“An insult to football”- La Liga President Tebas slams PSG for closing in on the Kylian Mbappe deal

La Liga chief Javier Tebas took a swipe at Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi as it emerged Real Madrid have missed out on Kylian Mbappe, claiming the Qatari was “as dangerous as the Super League.” The Frenchman’s contract was due to expire next month and he appeared destined to fulfill a childhood dream by signing for the Spanish giants.
Real Madrid had a £200million bid rejected last summer but have been in constant contact with the 23-year-old during the course of the season and finally looked set to land Mbappe, having withdrawn from the race to sign Manchester City-bound Erling Haaland.
The Champions League finalists have been rocked, however, by Mbappe’s late change of heart with the World Cup winner set to confirm his intention to pen down a new three-year deal after tonight’s Ligue 1 match against Metz.
LaLiga president Tebas has now questioned how PSG can afford to offer World Cup winner Mbappe what is expected to be one of the biggest deals in the history of football.
Tebas wrote on Twitter, “What PSG are going to do by renewing Mbappe with large amounts of money after giving losses of €700m in recent seasons and having more than €600m of salary bill, is an INSULT to football.”
“Al-Khelaifi is as dangerous as the Super League” he added in a reference to a new competition with 12 of Europe’s biggest clubs proposed last April,” he added.
Kylian Mbappe ditches Real Madrid at the last moment to stay with PSG

The final decision has been made by Kylian Mbappe and his team. After a prolonged saga of negotiations and rumors, the 23-year-old Frenchman has stayed put and will continue to ply his trade for PSG.
The World Cup winner has decided to extend his contract and stay at Paris Saint Germain. Trustworthy sports journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Kylian will stay in the French capital. Mbappe’s decision has been communicated to Real Madrid president Fiorentino Perez.
