The Cameroonian has endured a dreadful debut Premier League season. In 31 matches, Onana has let in 50 goals and managed just nine clean sheets. He also faced criticism for errors during the Red Devils’ match against Galatasaray, leading to their early exit from the UCL group stages. Meanwhile, the team is struggling in the league in 7th place.
Moreover, fans heavily criticized the 27-year-old goalkeeper’s performance against Wolves as he conceded 3 goals. Many United fans claim that he almost cost their team the match as they edge past Wolverhampton in a 4-3 win. Onana has now conceded 32 goals in the PL, reaching the 50-goal mark in all competitions.
Some fans humorously suggested he might break Lionel Messi’s record of 91 goals in a single calendar year (2012) by conceding the most goals in a season.
