Manchester United and Erik ten Hag find themselves on the brink of elimination as they drew 3-3 against Galatasaray in a must-win match. Andre Onana was at the heart of the United collapse on Wednesday, and a ‘heartbreaking’ video of the goalkeeper has gone viral since. A video shows the Cameroonian in a ‘dejected’ state and fuming at himself at the full-time whistle.

Several supporters felt ‘let down’ by Andre Onana when the player let in Hakim Ziyech‘s free-kick in the 62nd minute. A shot, which many felt was an easy save, was let in by the United keeper. He was also caught ‘ball-watching’ for Ziyech’s first goal, which also came from a spot-kick. The United #24 had a night to forget at RAMS Park, which was clearly visible from the player’s reaction at full-time.

A video shows Onana removing his gloves with aggression, seemingly disappointed at the result. After doing so, the player claps his hand and shakes his head in ‘disbelief’.

He then proceeds to pull at his jersey in anger as he walks towards the goalpost. Many have turned against the player for his ‘error’ while others have offered their support to the keeper.

Manchester United staring down at group-stage elimination after 3-3 draw vs Galatasaray

Manchester United find themselves at the very bottom of Group A, with 4 points in 5 games. Galatasaray posed a threatening challenge at RAMS Park, with fan groups issuing an order to fans to keep their ‘mobiles away’ and offer their complete support for 90 minutes. United, however, were unfazed at the start, as Alejandro Garnacho picked up right where he left off against Everton. Hid blistering strike from close range gave United the lead in 11 minutes.

Subsequently, Bruno Fernandes stunned the home crowd with a long ranger, catching Fernando Muslera off-guard. The home side quickly responded through Hakim Ziyech, who dispatched a free-kick from close range. Scott McTominay restored the visitors’ 2-goal-lead after getting on the end of a cross from Aaron Wan-Bissaka. However, United’s joy was short-lived as Hakim Ziyech forced Andre Onana into an error.

Galatasaray gained momentum when Kerem Aktürkoglu scored a fantastic goal, making it 3-2. The game was tense as United relentlessly tried to regain the lead. Bruno Fernandes’ shot narrowly missed, and now, in Group A, Manchester United’s fate is uncertain. A victory against Bayern Munich might not be sufficient for qualification; they also need a draw between Galatasaray and Copenhagen to secure their spot.
