Antony’s accuser DROPS the physical assault complaint filed against the Manchester United player in 2022

Manchester United star Antony has been facing criticism and backlash following accusations of physical violence from multiple women. Three different women after ex-girlfriend and DJ Gabriela Cavallin came forward with accusations of assault. The 23-year-old has, however, completely denied any involvement in the accusations. Following the allegations, the Man United star gave a ‘teary’ interview on live TV, denying any part’ in the same.
As per reports, a recent development has come to light, where one of the player’s accusers has ‘dropped’ all charges against the player, after Rayssa de Freitas, a student of Law, earlier accused Antony and Mallu Ohana of physical violence, when they allegedly attacked her in the Manchester United star’s ‘Land Rover’. The complaint which was filed back in 2022 has been withdrawn at the special request of the complainant herself. She had earlier claimed that she was in need of medical services after the attack on her person.
It was reported by media that Freitas fled the scene when Antony’s car stopped at a red light. There are also reports that Manchester United was not aware of the above incident, even though the complaint was filed several months prior to Antony’s £85 million move to Old Trafford. Antony still faces investigation from two other accusations, the first being 4 different accounts of physical abuse, as claimed by ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin and another by Ingrid Lana, who claims the player attacked her at a hotel.
Manchester United eyes potential replacements for Brazilian winger
£85 million man Antony has taken an indefinite leave from the first team after both club and player mutually decided on the same. After recent allegations regarding physical violence and assault, the player’s position at the club is in a delicate situation. Also, United star Mason Greenwood parted ways with the club in quite a similar scenario.
Erik Ten Hag earlier said that he had ‘no idea’ as to when Antony would return to the club. After missing the match against Brighton this weekend, it is likely that Antony will continue in Brazil and defend himself against the accusations made for the time being. Further, Jadon Sancho is also ‘exiled’ from the first team upon falling out with the Dutch manager.
So, it is no surprise that the club has started looking for potential replacements for the Brazilian. Reports suggest that United eye Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in case Antony does not return to the club.
The Napoli star was spectacular for the Gli Azzurri in the 2022/23 season but has had a silent start to life in Serie A this season. Even though FFP rules may limit a permanent transfer approach, United is looking to sign the Georgian on a loan deal. Ten Hag also has options in Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo, with the latter being out of action after picking up a serious injury in preseason.
For the time being the Red Devils will look to deploy Bruno Fernandes on the right while Mason Mount is also an option for the Dutch Manager.
