He was born on 1 October 2001 and has been playing at Manchester United’s development school in Halifax since the age of 6. He rose to the limelight after the Red Devils put trust in him and presented him with the iconic No. 11 jersey in the 2020-21 season.

On 6 March 2019, under the then manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Mason Greenwood made his competitive debut against Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League. He made a record on his debut as at the age of just 17 years and 156 days, he became the second-youngest player to represent the Red Devils in a European competition. Greenwood made his international debut for England on 5 September 2020 in a 1–0 away win over Iceland.
