Manchester United Legend Gary Neville believes Arsenal can “definitely” go on to win the Premier League title if they beat Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday. Arsenal hold an eight-point lead over Manchester City. But City have a game in hand and can close the gap to five on Saturday evening when they head to Southampton.

With just nine games left, Mikel Arteta’s side are on their way to winning the club’s first league title since 2004. And Neville believes Arsenal can take a big step towards cementing their league victory this weekend. Talking about this, Skysports pundit Neville said, “If Arsenal go to Anfield and win I’d say definitely it will be their title. Because the confidence from that will be unbelievable. But if they lose at Anfield it then becomes a really tight race. Our manager Sir Alex Ferguson would say to us if you’re playing Liverpool away at this time of year and you’re going for the title, and you win, you win the league. Quite often that proved to be the case“.

Gary went on to say, “About two or three months ago, I thought Arsenal would finish 10 or 15 points behind Man City. That’s not going to be the case now, obviously. It’s 50-50 now. If Arsenal win at Liverpool, they definitely become favorites. But there’s still a long way to go. Arsenal have to go to City and Newcastle, and they’re going to be very difficult games”.

Arsenal has recovered from their apparent slump earlier last month and have been back to their ruthless best since the international break has ended. Gabriel Jesus’ return to the side has given Mikel Arteta’s team a massive boost as well.

According to reports, Arsenal are one of the four Premier League sides to be eyeing a move for Brighton & Hove Albion FC’s World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister. The Argentine is one of several players to make their name during the world cup with great performances. As a result, he is attracting plenty of attention from all over Europe.

Brighton are targeting a European spot this term. But they could face a battle to keep hold of their star men this summer. The club has been willing in the past to cash in on their top players if the price is right. And it seems a bidding war could be on the cards.

Reports suggest that Mac Allister is a serious option for Arsenal. Although Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all reportedly interested to get the midfielder on their side. Most of these clubs want to bolster their midfield options. Arsenal recently failed in their efforts to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton.
