Arsenal took on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday. The Gunners were no match for the hosts as Bournemouth were thrashed 4-0 at home. $82 million signing Kai Havertz made headlines as the German scored his first goal for the club. Havertz has had a silent start to life at the Emirates. However, Arsenal fans were more than pleased after the player got off the mark for the Gunners.

In a video which has then gone viral, Arsenal fans are seen singing a chant for Havertz. “Waka Waka eh, eh/ £60m down the drain/ Kai Havertz scores again,” sang the Arsenal fans. The player was trolled by opposition fans for failing to score in his first 6 League games. Havertz scored his first goal from the spot after Martin Odegaard was fouled in the box.

The away fans at Bournemouth chanted the lines as the rendition of the famous World Cup song ‘Waka Waka’. Following the game, a video surfaced, which showed Odegaard convincing Gabriel Jesus to hand over the penalty to Kai Havertz. In a heartwarming moment, Havertz got off the mark to the delight of Arsenal fans.

Havertz was cheered on by fans after the game but the chant was the highlight. Further, the clips of the away fans singing went viral on social media. Many rival fans and netizens started to get on the bantering bandwagon.

Moreover, this win against Bournemouth places Arsenal 3rd in the table. Now, they are only behind Manchester City and Tottenham. Arteta’s side has 17 points in 7 games and remains undefeated so far this season.
