Arsenal fans may feel “embarrassed” to witness their team’s loss to Newcastle United on Saturday. Hours after the controversial game against Newcastle, the under-18 squad have caused a slip-up, giving fans a good laugh. The under-18 squad is managed by former Arsenal player Jack Wilshere. The club are part of the under-18 Premier League and is part of the Southern bracket.
The club, led by Jack Wilshere, were all set to face Brighton under-18s in a Premier League clash. However, in an interesting development, the game was later postponed. As per multiple reports, the club were forced to postpone the game after a significant human error. The team bus, which was supposed to go to Brighton, took a wrong turn and ended up at Bournemouth.
While the original destination was supposed to be the Brighton AMEX Elite Performance Centre, the bus reportedly took the wrong exit. However, the team bus apparently took a wrong turn off the M25.
Only later was it noticed that they were travelling in the wrong direction, and was too late to make the 12 p.m. kick-off. The hilarious error has sent football fans into a fit. Fans have taken to Twitter, using every opportunity to troll the club.
Fans React to Arsenal’s “Wrong Turn”
The hilarious error has called for a meltdown on social media. With the senior team already losing to Newcastle United hours ago, the incident paved way to add insult to injury. Fans couldn’t help but see the humorous side of the bus taking the wrong exit.
Subsequently, a fan commented, “the driver literally had one job. He’s finito“. Seizing the opportunity, Specsavers, an eyewear company commented:
Should've gone to Brighton. Taking a sly dig at the senior team, a fan joked "Could be worse. Could've ended up at Newcastle with the senior team". Moreover, several comments made fun of the driver, calling him a "drunkard" and "sacked in the morning".
The Arsenal under-18 team are currently 11th in the South bracket, with 23 points in 22 games.
