AS Roma legend Francesco Totti has talked about what Argentine striker Paulo Dybala must do to inherit his legendary No.10 jersey at the Italian club. Totti was synonymous with the No. 10 as he wore that throughout his career and was a symbol of loyalty for the club.
In a recent interview with GOAL, Totti said that Dybala must stay at the club for the next 10 years and prove his loyalty if he wanted to take the legendary No. 10 jersey of the club. Totti said, “Does he deserve Roma’s number 10? He deserves it if he stays another 10-20 years.” This might become too daunting a task for the 29-year-old Argentine.
Dybala joined Roma after he left Juventus last summer. Under head coach Jose Mourinho, the Argentine striker has scored 18 goals and provided eight assists in 38 matches. He also played a very pivotal role in taking his club to the Europa League final. Dybala, highly rated as a youngster, has blown hot and cold throughout his club career and saw his international role stall as he plays in the same position as Lionel Messi.
Dybala previously wore no. 10 during his time at Juventus. Although he wears the No. 21 in his national team and is currently wearing it at Roma too. It is to be seen if the Giallorossi entrusts the striker with their No. 10 this season or if will Dybala have to wait for it.
