Diego Simeone is set to part ways with Atletico Madrid at the end 2022-23 season, as per The Sun. Spanish Journalist Paco Garcia Caridad recently told El Chiringuito that Simeone will leave the club after 11 years. The reports suggest that the coach himself told club president Gil Marin his desire to leave in January, as per The Sun’s report.
Recently, Atletico faced a disappointing defeat against rivals FC Barcelona in their latest La Liga encounter. Adding more wounds to their bad season, Xavi and co defeated the Atletico Madrid side 1-0.
In the latest update, Joao Felix also left the club on loan to join Premier League side, Chelsea. As per the Spanish media, Felix and Simeone have had a strange relationship in recent times.
“We have differences, but I have always looked for the best for the club. To squeeze the maximum out of everyone until the last day that I am there or those who have to be there,” Simeone had said about the player in December.
“(Felix) is important for the team. If he transmits to us what we saw in the World Cup, he will be very important. He has conditions and talent and the team needs his qualities,” he had added.
Felix has reached a verbal agreement to join Chelsea, who is expected to pay him €11million, which is way lower than what the Spanish club wanted, as per multiple sources.

Scenes get ugly in Atletico Madrid’s loss to FC Barcelona
Ferran Torres and Stefan Savic got into an ugly fight in the high-intensity clash between FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. It all happened after Ferran Torres came in as a substitute to replace Ansu Fati. The ex-Manchester City forward got sent off in extra time for shoving Atletico’s Stefan Savic. Clearly, Atletico was ready to do everything to get a draw or win but Barcelona had the last laugh.
During the extra time, Ferran Torres and Stefan Savic got into an ugly fight which resulted in both players receiving Red Cards. The two engaged in a scuffle for the ball before continuing their brawl. The referees saw everything and sent off both players immediately.
