Barcelona and Wolves could sign a big swap deal involving Ansu Fati next summer
Ansu Fati made it clear to Mendes he would not leave the club unless Xavi Hernandez told him to.
Barcelona and Wolves are heavily involved with Jorge Mendes, who met with clients Ansu Fati, Lamine Yamal and Alejandro Balde during the week, before sitting down with Joan Laporta. Ansu Fati made it clear to Mendes he would not leave the club unless Xavi Hernandez told him to, but now reports have emerged of a potential swap deal involving the forward.
Wolves will offer €30m plus central midfielder Ruben Neves for Fati. The former has been linked with Barcelona consistently over the last two seasons, but there are reports that Xavi does not see him as an adequate replacement for Sergio Busquets, which is the priority in midfield. Fati has struggled to make an impact this season for Barça.
Barcelona must trim their wage bill by around €200 million (£175m) if they are willing to register any new signings. Any deal to move Fati on would be profitable for Barca, as Fati is one of the club’s most sellable assets. Xavi has publicly backed the number ’10’ after signing a new contract with a €1 billion ($1.01 billion) release clause in 2021.
Neves was once lined up as a potential heir to Busquets but was deemed too expensive at a time when the Blaugrana are unable to splash out huge sums of money. Due to Mendes’ involvement with the Wolves, the Midlands side have been deemed ideal for Fati to get guaranteed minutes and prove himself before a move up the table. Barca is working on the deal, and value the transition at €70m, Fati is reluctant to leave and will have talks with Xavi before the end of the season.
Neymar and Messi coming back to Camp Nou ?
According to reports from France, Christophe Galtier would like to get rid of the Brazilian, Neymar Jr. Paris Saint Germain are ready to loan Neymar out with an option to buy according to reports from L’Equipe in France and Carrusel Deportivo in Spain, which opens the door to a potential return to FC Barcelona.
FC Barcelona has more young players than any of the leaders in Europe’s top five leagues. Mateu Alemany has been working for months on putting together the squad for next season. Iñigo Martínez, who will arrive on a free transfer from Athletic.
Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Chelsea provide potential next destinations if Neymar fancies a new challenge. Though given his unfinished business with the Blaugrana, and Messi potentially heading back to Camp Nou, a return to FC Barcelona can happen.
