FC Barcelona is set to rope in Brazilian young star Vitor Roque into the club, much ahead of his anticipated date of arrival in July 2024. Recent reports suggest that the 18-year-old forward could arrive in the winter transfer window as a potential replacement for Gavi.

Vitor Roque and Barcelona had previously announced that they had reached an agreement to sign the young star from Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense, agreeing a contract until the 2030–31 season with a buyout clause of €500 million. He was to join the Catalan side in July 2024. The Brazilian forward made some noteworthy performances in the Brazilian league, which caught the eye of several clubs all around Europe.

Barcelona aims to expedite Roque’s arrival, anticipating his integration into the team by year-end. This move will provide a viable replacement for their sidelined star forward, Gavi, for the remainder of the 2023-24 season. Additionally, up to 80% of Gavi’s €5 million salary can be utilized by Barcelona to facilitate the registration of the Brazilian player.
