Just days after FC Barcelona announced its decision to cancel the ‘Taxi service’ that was used for La Masia players, another decision along similar lines has come to light. Aimed at reducing unjustified expenses, the club management has decided to terminate the food service for reserve team players. These decisions are taken in the light of the ongoing financial crisis.

The club used to provide food services via a third-party company to its players in the B-division. However, the club justifies its decision to terminate this arrangement by saying that not all players made use of this arrangement, and it did not make sense if it was only for a handful of players.

Several other changes have been implemented by Joan Laporta‘s board as the club actively seeks to overcome the financial crisis created by the Bartomeu board having already put an end to its Taxi service, and now, the Breakfast.

Further, there has been a mixed reaction to this news. Many rival fans have taken this as an opportunity to troll while the Culers are just not having any of it as they call this a ‘fake’ report by Relevo. But it will be interesting to keep an eye on the current financial scenario at the club as the drama builds on.

The defending champions got their first win of the season against Cadiz last weekend. Barcelona dominated possession as Cadiz dropped back and defended their goal. In a cagey encounter, the Blaugrana secured the 3 points through 2 late goals. Pedri and Ferran Torres got on the scoresheet as Ter Stegen kept consecutive clean sheets.

Pedri got on the end of a threaded pass from new signing İlkay Gündoğan to break the deadlock in the 82nd minute. Ferran Torres sealed the deal in added time as he carried the ball from near midfield to beat Ledesma at his far post. Barcà currently sits 6th with 4 points in 2 games. Rivals Real Madrid have 2 wins in 2 and sit atop the table.
