FC Barcelona offered multimillion-dollar deal

As per multiple reports, FC Barcelona received a multimillion-dollar offer from Qatar for a club in the country’s league to use its name on Wednesday. This deal might prove to be beneficial for the current situation of the financially unstable Barcelona, as per Catalonia radio star, Tot Costa.

As reportedly explained by Laia Tudel Prades on the Catalunya Radio program Tots Costa, the proposal needs to be studied by Barca from a legal perspective. The club also has to check that it does not clash with the club’s statutes. If accepted, however, it is an agreement worth a staggering amount of approximately $109 million a year.

Barcelona has reportedly faced various financial issues recently. The club hasn’t been able to reduce its structural debt of $1.47 billion as confirmed by Economic Vice President Eduard Romeo.

Their well-documented struggles to balance Financial Fair Play limits means that Barca often encounters issues while buying fresh faces and registering their contracts, plus those of existing stars that renew terms.

These factors have reportedly played a part in Lionel Messi’s decision to join Inter Miami earlier this month. The Argentine maestro didn’t want to wait around for the club to get its house in order and star in a transfer saga that could have dragged on across the summer.

FC Barcelona reportedly received a formal offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli for their midfielder Franck Kessie. The potential sale is reportedly interesting to Barca. The club needs to offload players by the close of June 30 when their financial year ends.

According to reports, the Saudi Pro League team has tabled a €20 million proposal for the Ivorian. If the move happens and Kessie shifts to Saudi Arabia, the 26-year-old would be paid €10 million a year by Al-Ahli.

Kessie arrived last summer on a free transfer from AC Milan. Any amount of money for the player represented pure profit for Barcelona.
