Pep Guardiola, the City manager, and Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, spoke at a news conference at his old club on Monday to confirm the match. Manchester City and FC Barcelona to lock horns at the Camp Nou for a charity match:

Pep Guardiola and Bernardo Silva

Guardiola stated, “This is an honor for us.” “We’d want to express our gratitude to Barça for welcoming us to this fantastic location. We’ll explain why this is so important to our gamers. It is commendable, as Unzué’s comments demonstrate. I’m delighted to be here. Barcelona has once again demonstrated why we are the greatest.”

The match will take place when the Premier League season commences, with City traveling to Newcastle United on the weekend of August 20-21, followed by a match against Crystal Palace the following week. Despite this, Guardiola insisted on bringing a quality team to Catalonia, prompting Laporta to suggest Bernardo Silva, who has been associated with a summer transfer to Barcelona.

“For the time being, I believe Bernardo will stay with us,” Guardiola added. “As a club, our desire is for him to stay, but I’ve always stated that I don’t want players who don’t want to be with us.” Bernardo, on the other hand, is vital, and I believe he will stay. True, he may join Barça But I’m not sure what will happen.”
