Paris Saint Germain wonderkid Warren Zaïre-Emery has become the youngest player in history to start a UEFA Champions League knock match. PSG face German giants Bayern Munich in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League match on Tuesday. The 2006-born French midfielder made his debut for the club last month. He became PSG’s youngest-ever player to start a game. Zaïre-Emery who is only 16 years and 343 days old, is featuring in his biggest match yet.

Emery has made 15 appearances since his debut for the first team, scoring 3 goals in the process. Warren Zaïre-Emery scored his first Ligue 1 goal for PSG against Montpellier, in a 3-1 victory. He came off the bench to score the third and final goal. The highly rated wonderkid was dubbed as an ‘Alien’ by his team mate Vitinha. “Who is this kid you took in your stable? It’s an alien.” He reportedly asked super agent Jorge Mendes.

The academy starlet who starred at every level in the academy quickly made his way to the first team. He shattered every record including the youngest starter and goal scorer for the club. Both the legends interestingly made their debut before the 16-year-old was even born.
