Sky Sports football pundit Gary Neville was praised for his commentary during the Carabao Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool. The former Man Utd star labeled the Blues as a ‘billion-pound failure’ upon its EFL Cup final defeat.

Virgil van Dijk scored an extra-time winner, to guide Liverpool to their 10th League Cup victory against rivals Chelsea. The Carabao Cup win could have eased the Blues’ struggles, who are having a difficult time this season, and currently placed 11th on the EPL table. The occasion marks the eighth major title for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp. Meanwhile, Chelsea recorded their sixth consecutive domestic cup final loss, adding to their season worries.

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville, famous for his humorous remarks, branded Chelsea as “blue billion-pound bottle jobs” after their loss in the final. Neville slammed Chelsea for losing to a young Liverpool side. The Reds line-up, without Mohamed Salah, Szoboszlai, Alisson, and others, featured many academy youngsters. Moreover, Neville also pointed out the difference between the average ages of both the squads, claiming that the Blues still had a lot of work to do.

It's Klopp's kids against the billion-pound bottle jobs. I've got no sympathy whatsoever!

Chelsea may need to reconsider their strategies as they aim to reclaim a top-four position. The club has not been able to provide good results since Todd Boehly took over as owner, despite investing hugely in players like Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.
