Can Shakira play in Gerard Pique’s Queen’s League? Sergio Aguero explores the possibility

Sergio Aguero has joked about enlisting Shakira as a player in the Queen’s League. The Queen’s League is a venture set up by Shakira’s ex-partner, Gerard Pique, as a female version of his popular King’s League. The Argentine and the Spaniard are known to be good friends, and were teammates together at FC Barcelona, albeit for a short period.

Pique and Shakira split up recently, amidst rumours of the Spaniard cheating on her with Clara Chia. Aguero managed to see the funny side of the controversy, joking, “You can imagine Shakira playing for Kuni Sports and the president being Gerard Pique.” The Spanish football legend is the chairman of the King’s League, based in Barcelona.

It will be difficult to see Shakira wanting to play for a league headed by Gerard Pique. The Colombian has also left the Catalan Capital for good, and wouldn’t want to return without good reason. Should Shakira decide to play, it will be hilarious to see an altercation between the ex-couple in the league.

The Spanish defender explained the photograph to FourFourTwo magazine. Pique claimed he merely approached Ibrahimovic to congratulate the Swede on the success of his autobiography. “I’m a very tactile person, very affectionate.” Pique continued, “The photographer took the photo at the moment when we were shaking hands.”

While Pique had a standard response to the photograph, Ibrahimovic was as fiery as would be expected from him. When a journalist asked him if he was gay, the Swede clapped back, “No, no, you and your sister come home now and I will prove that I’m not gay”.
