Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel are ready to part ways with Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech this summer: Reports

Chelsea

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is ready to sell forwards Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech this summer. The Duo arrived back in 2020 when Frank Lampard was the manager as part of Chelsea’s £200 million squad overhaul. However, while Chelsea went in to win the Champions League that season and numerous accolades following, Werner and Ziyech haven’t had as big an impact as they would’ve liked.

While in the case of Ziyech, the Moroccan has barely played for Chelsea. He was injured for most of his first year while even in his second season, he has failed to fit into the side. As for Timo Werner, the 25-year-old has just not managed to score goals the way he did with RB Leipzig.

Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea needs to raise funds for new signings

Chelsea has identified Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, Man City’s Raheem Sterling and Leicester’s Wesley Fofana as part of the new players they want to sign. All of which would require them to break the bank. Hence, the Blues are allowing Werner and Ziyech to leave.

In 89 appearances for the club, Timo Werner managed just 23 goals and 21 assists. For lower than that 95 he netter for Leipzig in 160 games. On the other hand, Ziyech also performed sub-par with 14 goals and 10 assists in 83 games. Hence, it is no surprise that Tuchel is allowing these players to leave to make room for new, improved players.

Moreover, Thomas Tuchel already has a plethora of attacking options at their disposal. Romelu Lukaku, Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Kai Havertz, Ross Barkley and Mason Mount. Hence, it seems Werner and Ziyech’s time at Stamford Bridge could come to an end this summer.
