Lionel Messi has already established himself as one of the greatest players in the history of Football. With 681 goals and 317 assists along with 36 club trophies, 7 Ballon D’ors and countless other individual accolades, Messi has nothing more left to prove in Europe.

After a shocking move to PSG, Messi hasn’t had the best time in Paris. Hence, the 34-year-old could look to see out his contract in Paris and return to his home country and boyhood club, Newell’s Old Boys. Lionel Messi has expressed in the past his desire to play for them towards the end of his career and now may be the time.

PSG however, will wish that the winger can continue more. While Barcelona also remains hopeful of maybe re-signing their greatest ever player to have one last dance. With his contract expiring in 2023, a lot can happen with Lionel Messi as of now.
