Chelsea dramatically beat Leeds United on Wednesday. The Blues mustered a late 3-2 win to book a spot in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup. However, despite all the celebrations and glory, a regretful incident outlined the game at Stamford Bridge. Leeds United took the lead early on against the home side through Mateo Joseph. The celebrations were quickly dampened by an unfortunate event at the Shed end of the stadium.
A Leeds fan fell from the top tier while celebrating the club’s opening goal in the eighth minute. Even though both clubs mentioned that an incident had occurred, there was no immediate clarification regarding the same. As per reports, the fan was immediately treated for injuries in the stands before sending him to a hospital for further treatment.
Both clubs mentioned of an ‘incident’ which occurred in the first half. The hosts eventually went on to win the game 3-2 thanks to a late goal from Conor Gallagher.
The midfielder seemingly made up for all the spurned chances against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday. Chelsea will now face Leicester City in the quarter-final in March.

Chelsea fans were in for a long week after Liverpool got the better of the Blues at Wembley on Sunday. A late goal from Virgil van Dijk, two minutes before penalties broke Chelsea’s hopes of securing a title this season. Things were in Chelsea’s favor this time around, as a late goal came to the rescue for Mauricio Pochettino’s men. A costly error from Axel Disasi was pounced upon by the opposition.
Mateo Joseph made no mistake as he blasted his shot past Robert Sanchez to make it 1-0. Chelsea responded quickly through Nicolas Jackson before Mykhaylo Mudryk gave the hosts the lead. The Ukranian finished off a cutback from Raheem Sterling, as commentators labeled it as one of his best spells in a Chelsea shirt. Leeds were not done yet, as Joseph pulled his side back into the game from a header.
Gallagher made up for his costly misses against Liverpool, and through a sublime turn and shot, gave Chelsea the go-ahead goal in the 90th minute. Other Premier League clubs, such as Manchester City, Liverpool, and Wolves have also secured qualification to the quarter-finals. While Chelsea take on Leicester, Manchester United have been drawn against Liverpool, in what appears to be the most thrilling clash yet in the competition.
