Former Chelsea player and Legend Frank Leboeuf had harsh words for club owner Todd Boehly. Leboeuf expressed his dissatisfaction and disapproval of the current state of Chelsea Football Club. Chelsea find themselves 14th in the Premier League. Boehly spent a little over £1 billion after taking over the club from Roman Abramovich the previous year.
Frank is worried that the businessman will ‘kill’ his former club. He also added that Chelsea is a mid-table club and that big-name players won’t want to join the club. In the absence of Champions League football, Frank Lebouef believes, “Top players won’t come to Chelsea because the club has fallen.” He expressed his disappointment at where the club has found itself in, in just 2 years after their UCL triumph.
Leboeuf also blamed the people in charge of ‘recruitment’ at the club. He said that the ‘spine of the club is very young’. He said the team lacks leadership and that it lacks experience as a collective. “I don’t see the leadership, and that’s the main problem,” Frank complained. He blamed Pochettino and Todd Boehly, especially for approving the singing of young, inexperienced players.
Pochettino labels the win against Brighton a ‘turning point’ in their season
Chelsea finally managed to secure a win against Brighton in the EFL Cup. The Blues prevailed thanks to a solitary Nicolas Jackson strike. The club ensured progression to the RO16 and will face Blackburn Rovers in the next round. Speaking on the win, Mauricio Pochettino stressed that the win against the Seagulls ” has to be the turning point of their season.

Speaking to the Press, Pochettino said, “It’s about time. Today there were many positives – the players fought to give their best.” Chelsea have found it difficult to find the net in games, scoring just 5 goals this season in the Premier League. Jackson scored Chelsea’s first goal in the last 4 games in the EFL.
Cole Palmer teed up Jackson in the early minutes of the second half before the Senegalese striker slotted home. Cole Palmer, former Manchester City man performed brilliantly on his debut. “He was key in this victory,” said Pochettino after the game.
Brighton edged Chelsea for all attacking stats, except for the most important one. Pochettino has been criticized for the lack of experience in his squad and for excessively relying on young players. Chelsea face Fulham on Thursday.
