The Church of Scientology reportedly constructed a football field for Hollywood star actor Tom Cruise to pursue his close pal David Beckham. The design was made specifically with the intention of wooing his mate and former English national team player David Beckham.
The episode was mentioned very clearly in a biography titled “A Billion Years: My Escape from a Life in the Highest Ranks of Scientology,” written by a senior executive within the Church of Scientology Mike Rinder, who worked for the firm from 1982 to 2007.
In his memoir he wrote about the same, “A full-time caretaker was appointed from the Gold staff … It was built for one purpose only: so Tom Cruise could woo his friend David to come to Gold. It never happened,”
