The squads have been released ahead of tonights El Clasico second leg at the Camp Nou. Barcelona go in with a 1-0 lead thanks to an Eder Militao own goal in the first leg.

Thibaut Courtois starts in goal for Real Madrid. Dani Carvajal and Eduardo Camavinga start in the fullback positions, with Eder Militao and David Alaba in central defence. Federico Valverde, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric start together in midfield. The front three comprises Rodrygo on the right, Vinicius Jr. on the left, and Karim Benzema down the middle. Los Blancos will line up in a 4231 formation. Manager Carlo Ancelotti will hope for a strong response from his side, having fallen short in games against their arch-rivals all season.

Barcelona start with Ter Stegen in goal, and a back four of Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, Marcos Alonso and Alejandro Balde. Sergio Busquets plays in midfield alongside Franck Kessie and Sergi Roberto. Gavi and Raphinha join Polish striker Robert Lewandowski in attack.

The winner of the tie will go up against Osasuna in the final on 7th May. They reached the final in dramatic fashion after a 116th minute winner from Pablo Ibanez, breaking Athletic Club hearts.

What happened in the first leg tie between Real Madrid and Barcelona?

The first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final between Barcelona and Real Madrid took place on March 2, 2023. The away side ran out winners at the Santiago Bernabeu after an own goal from Eder Militao in the 26th minute. Franck Kessie’s saved effort hit Militao and rolled into the net, leaving the goalkeeper no chance.

Real Madrid had several chances in the first half, including Karim Benzema scoring an offside goal. Dani Carvajal got a superb chance just before half time, but got under his volley and sent it high into the Bernabeu stands.

Vinicius Jr. fired a strong shot at goal, but his attempt was bravely headed wide by Ronald Araujo. At the other end, Barcelona almost made it 2-0 via another Kessie shot. After finding acres of space, he side-footed a shot into the bottom-left corner. However, his teammate Ansu Fati blocked it and sent the ball wide. Rodrygo nearly levelled scores spectacularly in the 89th minute with a 25-yard effort, but it was not to be.
