Cristiano Ronaldo MISSES OUT on top 10 most valuable players in Saudi Pro League
Transfermarkt recently released a list of the top 10 most valuable players in the Saudi Pro League. From Neymar Jr. to Sadio Mane and Gabri Veiga, the list is full of familiar names. However, the exclusion of one particular player has raised the eyebrows of many in the footballing community. Cristiano Ronaldo has failed to make the top 10, despite his apparent succession as the face of football in Saudi Arabia.
38-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo made the move to the Saudi Pro League towards the end of 2022. The Portuguese superstar initiated a mass exodus of players from the European top 5 leagues, while at the same time, earning next to $214.04 million per year for his services. Unsurprisingly, Brazil and Al-Hilal star Neymar Jr. took the first spot, valued at £43 million. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ruben Neves complete the top 3, making it an Al-Hilal exclusive.
Fabinho, Otavio and Gabri Veiga follow the top 3. Malcom and Aleksandar Mitrovic sit in 7th and 8th positions. Roger Ibanez of Al-Ahli makes 9th. Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammate Sadio Mané completes the list, being valued at £21.86 million. Despite his monumental salary and brand value, the 38-year-old Portuguese is valued at a meager £11.49 million.
