Cristiano Ronaldo hints at Manchester United stay, feels the club can win silverware next season under Erik ten Hag

Cristiano Ronaldo recently said Manchester United can win trophies under new incoming manager Erik ten Hag next season. In an interview on the club website, Ronaldo broke his silence on the appointment of the Dutchman, who is the man entrusted with taking United back to the top.

Ronaldo highlighted that he has confidence that we can clinch trophies next term and has also seemed to commit his future to the club for next season, with chatter persisting throughout the year on a potential exit with United finishing outside the Champions League spots.

Ronaldo told, “What I know about him is he did a fantastic job for Ajax, that he’s an experienced coach. But we need to give him time. Things need to change the way he wants. I hope we have success, of course, because, if you have success, all of Manchester is going to have success as well. I wish him the best.”

“We are happy and excited, not only as players but the supporters as well. I wish him the best and let’s believe that next year, we are going to win trophies,” he added.

Ronaldo won the prize for scoring five goals in April, fending off competition from Kevin de Bruyne, Thiago Alcantara, Son Heung-min, and others. The former Real Madrid star has now won it for the sixth time, a new record for a Manchester United player.

He has now delivered his own verdict on the prize, insisting that his hunger to win has never faded after collecting yet another accolade in his astonishing career.

“My second Premier League Player Of The Month Award, the 6th in my career. I’m as happy to win today as I was in my early days, the hunger for victory and achievements never fades away. Thanks to everyone that made this possible,” Ronaldo tweeted.
