According to the latest reports, Cristiano Ronaldo demands to sign several big names in Manchester United’s squad for next season after a disastrous 2021/22 season ended trophyless for the Reds. The former Scottish player Frank McAvennie further stated that Cristiano Ronaldo could play a big role in Manchester United’s upcoming signings under new coach Eric ten Hag and the Portuguese want some big names to get associated with the club.

The former Ajax boss, Eric ten Hag, confirms that the 37-year-old Portuguese will be in his plans ahead of the new season and praises him as a “true winner” and a “magnificent footballer”.

The club will look to add some big names to the team who will play a part in bringing the legacy Manchester United possesses in the coming seasons. McAvennie has stated that in order to plan for the 2022-23 season, the Dutchman must ‘get hold’ of Cristiano Ronaldo and take his opinions about further proceedings.

“The main guy in the dressing room is Ronaldo, and he wants to keep him around. He’s got to go and speak to him now – and he may well have already done so over Zoom,” said McAvennie.

As the season concluded and Cristiano Ronaldo joined Portugal for their UEFA Nations League campaign, there have been speculations regarding Ronaldo’s future as the Reds failed to qualify for the champions league next season.

He is ready to commit to the Reds as he seems to continue at the Old Trafford under Eric ten Hag but rumors rise as big clubs look to make a surprise move for the 37-year-old striker.

Ronaldo scored 24 goals ending the season as Manchester United’s top scorer but failed to lead them to any title glory. Since his arrival last summer, fans believed that he might end the team’s trophy drought but he couldn’t meet their expectations and his exclusion in several matches might be questioned as the Reds failed to win any game which didn’t feature Ronaldo.
