Manchester United are finally set to receive some crucial update on their star player, Cristiano Ronaldo as he returns to England to discuss his future with the club, as reported by The Athletic.
It’s been almost a month since the Portuguese star revealed his intentions to leave the club in search of a more competitive side playing in the Champions League. However, after many approaches made by his agent to clubs like Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, the player still hasn’t been able to land himself a new club.
Man Utd stance to remain the same on Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United still expect Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at the club despite his intention to leave Old Trafford in this transfer window after just one year since his historic return from Juventus.
Manchester United already have Cristiano Ronaldo as an important part of their plans even though the player’s heart lies in leaving the club. The club also reportedly see the player’s return as a positive sign after he failed to land himself a new club in the transfer window.
Since his announcement, Ronaldo only managed to get lucrative offers from MLS and Saudi. However, since his priority is to play in Europe and especially in the Champions League he could end up staying at Manchester United who plays in the Europa League next season.
The Red Devils play their last game in Australia against Atletico Madrid, a potential new destination for Ronaldo, before returning to Old Trafford to host one final pre-season game against Rayo Vallecano.
It is unclear of the player will return to training with the club after his meeting with the United board, however, if the situation goes according to plan for Manchester United, the Red Devils fans could finally see Ronaldo play one pre-season game for United against Rayo Vallecano before the kick off the 22-23 season against Brighton on 7th August.
