Sunday, February 5th, Dani Alves‘s partner and Brazilian model Joana Sanz visited her husband for the first time since the 39-year-old was arrested for alleged rape at a nightclub in Barcelona, the incident took place on the evening of December 30.
The model shows her support for her husband, saying she will not leave him alone in the worst moment of his life. She travels to the jail with chef Bruno Brasil, who was with Alves on the night of the alleged incident. As reported by The Sun.
Despite reports suggesting she had asked for a divorce, Joana stated, “I’m not going to leave him alone at the worst moment in his life.” She spent approximately 50 minutes with Alves and a friend before departing Brians 2 Prison in Barcelona.
When asked about the divorce rumors, Joana declined to comment and instead dismissed claims that Alves had refused a face-to-face meeting with her as a “lie.” Joana said on Instagram, “When I have something to say, I, Joana Sanz, will say it“, “Everything else is speculation. I appreciate your concern but at this moment in time there is a process underway which deserves not to be intoxicated” she added.
The divorce rumors started when Joana deleted most of the photos of her and her husband on her Instagram. The former Barcelona man has now admitted to having sex with a woman at a Barcelona nightclub but has insisted that it was completely concensual. Joana emphasized that there is a process underway and that it deserves not to be influenced by false information.
The Former Barcelona player, was denied bail as Prosecutors say, “Dani Alves remains a threat” if released

The defense team for Dani Alves and the Brazilian footballer sought an appeal for bail as the investigation into sexual assault accusations against him continued. However, Spanish prosecutors have opposed this appeal. Alves’ lawyers had submitted the appeal last week, arguing that Alves would agree to surrender his passport and wear a GPS tracking device if released, report to the court and authorities as frequently as required, and stay at least 500 meters away from the accuser and her home or workplace.
Despite these restrictions, prosecutors felt Alves would remain a “flight risk” if released. The former FC Barcelona star was arrested in January over allegations of sexual assault when he came to attend his mother-in-law’s funeral in Spain.
A judge heard testimony from eight witnesses and analyzed the initial probe by authorities, resulting in a decision to detain Alves without bail. The judge will now decide whether the case will go to trial. Prosecutors also opposed a request by local nightclub associations to join as accusers.
With an impressive record of 42 titles, including three Champions League victories with FC Barcelona and two Copa Americas with Brazil, Dani Alves, at the age of 39, has made his mark on the world of Football. The Brazilian is the most decorated player in the game’s history. He was also a part of the Brazilian national team in the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. It remains to be seen how the case against the former Juventus player Unfolds.
