Dinorah Santa, the ex-wife of Daniel Alves and mother of his two children, visited her ex-husband, who is imprisoned in Barcelona on suspicion of rape against a 23-year-old girl. The former Barcelona star’s ex-partner spoke to journalists at the prison exit. She stated that she did not question the different versions of what happened at the Sutton nightclub on December 30, 2022, because she believed the player was innocent.
Dinorah said, “I did not ask about the versions because we know that he is innocent, and soon this will be demonstrated. There are no questions regarding this.” Daniel Alves and his ex-wife mainly talked about their children during the visit, according to Dinorah.
He asked about the children, and they talked about their children’s studies. Dinorah said she and the children believed in his innocence. Daniel Alves’ ex-wife also said that she and her children have been suffering from the situation faced by the Brazilian.
“The situation is complicated for them. It is also necessary to take into account that Dani has a family and children, and often not everything that is said is true, and this weighs heavily on children’s lives,” she said. She added that as a mother, it was natural for her to suffer when her kids suffered.

What are the assault allegations levied on Daniel Alves?
The 39-year-old was accused of sexually assaulting a 23-year-old woman in Barcelona’s Sutton nightclub, a famous spot for celebrities. He has been in prison since the 20th of January. The Brazilian is also moving closer to a divorce with his wife, Joana Sainz, who is reportedly fuming at her husband for his unfaithful behaviour.
According to the complainant, Alves forced her to sit on his lap, slapped her, and attempted to force himself upon the victim in a private room in the Sutton nightclub. Security cameras captured Alves brushing past the sobbing victim post the incident. The victim immediately contacted the nightclub’s security, who informed the Barcelona police. However, by the time the cops arrived, Alves had fled from the club.
The judge handling the case has already stated that she believes there is “sufficient evidence” that there was a rape. There is the result of a DNA test that proves the presence of a relevant fluid on the victim’s clothes. The private bathroom also contained Alves’ fingerprints.
The former Barcelona star changed the story several times. At first, he claimed that he did not know the victim. The Brazilian then said that all acts between the two were consensual.
