FC Barcelona legend sentenced to prison without bail for s***** harassment charges
Brazilian star Dani Alves has been sentenced to jail on remand over charges of sexual assault and misbehavior with an unknown woman who pressed charges later.

39-year-old former Barcelona right back, Daniel Alves has been detained by the police under accusations of sexual harassment and assault on Friday. According to sources, the incident happened on December 30 in Barcelona’s Sutton nightclub. Reports suggest that the Spanish Public Ministry has appealed for Dani Alves’ arrest without bail with immediate effect.
The former selecao international has denied all these allegations as he attended the court at Ciutat de la Justicia in the Catalan capital. According to various sources, Dani Alves will be going to prison after judge Maria Concepcion Canton Martin, of the investigation court of Barcelona, has requested the fullback be taken into custody without the option to bail.
The woman reportedly pressed charges two days after the incident took place. Spanish police detained and questioned the footballer on Friday, before presenting him in front of the judge. According to a spokesperson from the local prosecutor’s office, both Dani Alves and the victim were present in the court during the hearing.
According to Diario AS, the victim informed local authorities that Alves tried touching her private parts without her consent in the nightclub. Accompanied by her friends, the victim then took help from Sutton club’s security to take legal action against the Brazilian star. The Policemen arrived at the scene and took her statement..

One of the greatest fullbacks of his generation, Dani Alves currently plays for Mexican club PUMAS Pumas UNAM. The 39-year-old footballer denied all these accusations and pleaded ‘not guilty’ in front of the judge. Although, he did not comment openly about the incident until earlier this month.
In an interview with Antena 3, Dani Alves confirmed that he was present at the nightclub on December 30th. Along with this, he also denied taking responsibility for any of such misbehavior. “I was dancing and having a good time without invading anyone’s space. I don’t know who this lady is. How could I do that to a woman? No,” the footballer exclaimed.
Dani Alves was an integral part of the Catalan juggernaut combining with Messi on the right flank with devastating success.. He also briefly returned to the club in 2021 for a more senior role. A true legend of the game, Dani Alves represented his national team; Brazil 126 times in his career.
