DEAL SEALED: Throwback to when Erling Haaland was spotted partying with Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez in Mykonos
Erling Haaland is a Manchester City player now after he recently passed the medical tests on Monday. He will be one of the biggest signings in the transfer window this summer after he spent two successful years at Dortmund. Interestingly, Haaland may require less time to settle at Manchester as he already has his party pal Riyad Mahrez waiting in the wings.
Last summer Erling Haaland was seen enjoying his vacation in Mykonos. Riyad Mahrez just so happens to also be spending his postseason break there. The Algerian player was partying at the Principote beach bar with a group that also included Fulham player Anthony Knockaert and Dawn Ward, wife of former Premier League striker Ashley Ward and star of “The Real Housewives of Cheshire.”
In footage posted by Ward on her Instagram story, Mahrez & Co. are seen up on their feet as Eric Prydz’s “Opus” plays in the bar before Haaland enters stage left to join in the fun and engage in some napkin twirling with his new holiday friends.
The footage quickly spread on social media, fuelling rumors that Haaland, 20, is set to follow in his father Alf-Inge’s footsteps by playing in the Premier League for City but Mahrez moved to reassure his followers that he was “just having fun.”
That’s all in the past, but, according to recent reports, Erling Haaland has officially signed for Manchester City after the Citizens activated his release clause. The Norwegian player will receive the same wages as that of Kevin de Bruyne.

A look at the contract details of Erling Haaland as he signs for Manchester City
Pep Guardiola’s side is in need of a natural center-forward and he feels that Haaland could possibly fit into his plans. Haaland will sign the contract with a wage of £375,000 per week and his term ends in 2027 which makes it a four-year deal. Guardiola’s side has agreed to pay the release clause after negotiations and confirms it to be around €60 million.
The contract offers Haaland a wage equal to that of Manchester City’s current highest earner Kevin De Bruyne, but an additional bonus and increment in his wages could make him the highest-paid player on the side. The Dortmund striker has scored 85 goals in 88 games this season and thus, is expected to help Manchester City in the Champions League, a title they are yet to win.
