The president of La Liga, Javier Tebas, has criticised the Premier League and believes that several of its teams have violated the financial fair play regulation. Recently, Manchester City was charged with violating more than 100 financial regulations.
“The Premier League is destabilising European football. They are the Super Debt League. In audiovisual revenues, Barça and Madrid would be third or fourth in the PL. We are looking for a stable business system, not like them. The commercial demand of the Premier League has not changed in recent years. The big difference is that they have a large number of owners who are driving the clubs to losses. La Liga clubs have lost €250m, PL clubs have lost €2 billion,” Tebas stated. “The Premier League is not the Super League, it’s the super-trap, the super-loss that we have to avoid in the ecosystem of European football too,” he added. Also, he has previously claimed that the league is ‘financially doped’ since they are just pumping cash.
According to Javier Tebas, this would signal a financial disaster for the continent’s football industry. He has long advocated for a stringent spending limit for teams both in Spain and abroad in order to make football more viable.

Javier Tebas believes Real Madrid not involved in Barcelona case
According to Javier Tebas, Real Madrid is not a part of the FC Barcelona referee dispute. José Maria Enriquez Negreira, a former vice president of the Technical Committee of Referees, has been paid by Barcelona.
“There are a series of payments, for amounts that are not clear. I don’t know if it has affected the results of the matches or not, but as president of LaLiga, I don’t like it,” Tebas stated. The head of La Liga has a special spot for Real Madrid and has previously stated that they can only sign Kylian Mbappe and Erling Halaand both. He attempted to extort money from FC Barcelona in 2018, according to ESPN.
Tebas has made noise about these issues and has also criticised the Premier League’s budget. Barcelona is in severe problems since there is a chance that their titles could be overturned or that they will lose points, exactly like the Italian giants, Juventus.
